The joint and also the central piece is processed very finely and then adapted to the minimal height of the mouthpiece when fitted. The copper sockets fitted into the side olives enable an almost resistance-free, smooth sliding of the bit rings.

Wear can be increased if the bit is fastened too high up in the horse"s mouth and horses can chew the bit with their back teeth. This is why you should make sure the bit is fitted correctly.
